My ultimate goal is to get to my ideal weight. My goal for this time is “To prepare healthy food and eat only what is planned on my diet”. Elimintating mindless eating of junkfood is a hidden goal in that statement.

    Hello….
My name is Susanne…just took the first class….and found insight in discovering that my resolution to “choose to focus on the joy of transformational breathing (Judith Kravitz) and do it (this type of breathing)2 to 3 times a day for at least 5 minutes each time.”…has the potential to address a number of my resolutions…yet I will focus on using it to resolve a habit I want to break//quit……glad to be in this class…and will have to re-learn how to get on Facebook in the next coupla days….

I decided to join the paid version of the class because it is so wonderful and I want to keep the classes so I can revisit them in the future. Now i just hope this will not give me the “license” to skip class because now I can access them! :))

I also wanted to ask a question for day 16 (today). Dr. Carter talks about knowing your limits. I can very much relate to “decision paralysis”, feeling of extra sensitivity and overwhelm and certainly that staring state when I just don’t know where to turn. I do know all those signs but what can I do THEN when my willpower is clearly exhausted? Please let me know. thank you so much!

    • Pre-decide! Think through now, when you aren’t depleted, what you will do when you are faced with the particular willpower challenges that are predictable for you. Maybe even write your plan down on a card. Then, when you are depleted, you don’t have to make any decisions, you just act in a pre-determined way.

What a wonderful jumpstart this program has been! I am so grateful for the encouragement and information and look forward to taking the class over and over as I develop new habits. I hope 2013 will be the year that I learned to form the habit of creating new habits! Thank you Dr. Carter.

Dr. Carter – I plan to keep a “New Habits” journal this year and retake this class with the start of each new habit. Would you recommend that I roll into a new class cycle and new habit formation beginning tomorrow, as this cycle ends, or begin on the first of each month? (Your class today sited the research around New Year’s resolutions and sticking with one through the month of January.) Thoughts? Thank you!

Hello from a fellow CdePer! I’ve loved listening to the free class, and decided to enroll in the premium class for a few reasons: 1) To support you and your ability to provide free classes like this one, which got me hooked! 2) To be able to listen to these classes over and over, with hopes that I can start one “tiny habit” each month to foster healthier, happier living, and 3) So I can keep the materials as a reference to start my own reading list based on your recommended authors, books, references, etc. Thanks very much for this introductory “Cracking the Habit Code” course! I’m definitely eager to get your suggestions on where to go from here!
