Thanks! Do you think you could give a start to finish example of ERN and what you should say? Maybe specifically if it’s something NOT part of your routine? (Say, getting them to stop playing at a playdate when it’s time to go home?)
Yes, I agree. Thanks!
Here are some other resources where I describe the ERN method:
1) On the blog: https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/raising_happiness/post/how_to_get_kids_to_do_boring_but_necessary_tasks https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/raising_happiness/post/really_ask_you_again https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/gg_live/parenting_videos/video/listen_without_nagging/ https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/gg_live/parenting_videos/video/Motivate_Kids/ https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/gg_live/parenting_videos/video/Bribe_Kids/
2) In Raising Happiness, the book — see chapter six, in particular
3) I teach a bunch of classes on this as a part of the Raising Happiness Homestudy
Hope there is something in there that helps!
